If I had to pick one issue that affects more Americans health than any other it would be lack of sleep.

The stats are downright scary. Over the past 60 years or so American's have gone from

getting an average of 8 hours of sleep per night to about 6.5 hours.

Perhaps worse the quality of sleep has also taken a sharp downturn with many finding it much more difficult to fall asleep and to stay asleep once they do.

There's a host of reasons why but perhaps the biggest is that we've gone from spending almost no time starting at a screen in the 1950's to spending on average 6.5-7 hours a day watching TV, working on a computer and staring at our phones.

It's actually not all that uncommon for people to spend MORE time looking at a screen than sleeping which leads to a host of health problems.

So put down that phone, turn off the TV, and get to bed. You'll be happier, healthier, less stressed and enjoy life much more if you do!
